Job Description:Cheme Engineering Technologists are specialists who have achieved solid working knowledge in one or more technical areas. The Technologist will be responsible for implementing best practices and delivering technical excellence in project execution. Technologists are part of a high-performing team and are responsible for the successful execution of deliverables, effective utilization of their time, and maintaining knowledge of industry best practices.Technologists work within their discipline group and under the supervision of the Discipline Leader.The Electrical Technologist is a technical expert capable of providing solutions for Cheme clients in the following areas. (Design and Spec)Medium Voltage DistributionLow Voltage DistributionMotor Control Center DesignCoordination StudiesFault Current AnalysisArc Flash StudiesGroundingVFDs and Motor ControlsFire Alarm, SecurityLighting Design (Industrial Applications)Explosive Environment Applications (dust and vapours)Ontario Electrical Code/NFPAPermitting ProcessDuties will consist of a combination of the following tasks:Understand each overall project.Coordinate with Process, Mechanical and Architectural disciplines.Preparation of engineering calculationsDevelopment of engineering drawings (single lines, risers, layouts)Preparation of construction specifications, user requirements, functional specifications, and scope documentationCost estimatingTechnical leadership on assigned projectsPeer review of engineering work Development of templates and tools for discipline areaParticipation in the development of training materialsMaintaining industry knowledge for discipline areaCoaching other disciplines for the purpose of understanding/coordination.Attendance of factory acceptance testing and on-site coordination and execution of commissioning and validation activitiesTravel to client sites for site review and troubleshootingMinimum Required Education:Graduation from a 3-year post-secondary program in engineering technology.Professional Requirements:Certified by Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. OACETTCore Competencies:Electrical engineering skills with ~3-5 years of current work experience.AutoCADRevit an assetField experience is a strong assetIndependent work on ProjectsLeadership skills an assetProficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and peersSkilled at communicating in a professional and courteous mannerUse of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office Suite to navigate a server environment and prepare engineering documents Valid drivers license and carKnowledge of OHSA and the Green Book as it applies to construction in general and electrical construction specifically
