ResponsibilitiesDevelop and qualify welding procedures in accordance with classification society and national standardsProvide technical leadership and on-site support during production and testing activitiesSupervise Welder Technicians during weld procedure testing and developmentCreate technical welding documents and provide expert consultation to internal teamsEvaluate new welding equipment and technologies for improved efficiency and qualityInvestigate and resolve welding and material issues to ensure first-time qualityQualificationsBachelors degree in engineering or a related scientific disciplineP.Eng designation strongly preferred; CWB Welding Engineering Recognition is an assetMinimum 5 years of shipbuilding or relevant engineering experience preferredStrong knowledge of FCAW and GTAW welding; experience with mechanized welding is desirableProficient in weld procedure development, drawing interpretation, and QA/QC best practicesSkilled in MS Office, SharePoint, and capable of quickly adopting new technical softwareSalary Range: $87-110k/yearPlease note that the posted salary range for this role may vary based on seniority, qualifications, or prior experience.
