PLEASE NOTE: This is a permanent, full time position but the successful candidate will be hired on a contract basis.BASIC FUNCTION The Thermal Control Room Operator will be responsible for the day-day operation of all aspects of the facility and field. Controlling unit operating variables utilizing the DELTA-V DCS control system and work closely with unit operators to ensure that all equipment is operated safely, efficiently and maintaining required equipment and facility KPIs.PRINCIPAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Operate the CPF and well pads in a safe and effective manner while working collaboratively as part of the operating team.Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets;Perform facility monitoring and optimization from the DCS.Support the operations teams daily activities from the DCS.Steward all daily operations logs and records;Support all maintenance activities;Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments as require;Participate in the development and review of Safe Operating Procedures;Participate in the site Health and Safety ProgramREQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSCertification: 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate (progress toward 2nd Class certification is an asset).Control Room Experience: Minimum of 3 years in SAGD operations (experience with Delta-V distributed control system is an asset).SAGD Operating Experience: At least 5 years, in addition to control room experience.Equipment Operations:- Steam generating equipment and associated processes.- Water treatment systems and associated processes.- De-oiling equipment and associated processes.- Oil treating equipment and associated processes.Maintenance & Safety:- Equipment isolation for maintenance.- Safe work permitting procedures.Skills and Attributes:Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills and mechanical aptitude.Work Ethic: Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities.Communication: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Growth & Responsibility: Willingness to accept increased operational responsibilities.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONThe facility operations are 24-hours a day, 365 days per year, requires personnel to work a 10x10 rotating schedule, 12-hours per shift (including weekends and holidays). The facility is located approximately 60km North of Lloydminster near the community of Onion Lake. There is a permanent operations camp on site.
