About our client: Our client provides specialized drilling services, and they have been in business for many years. They attract long-term employees. We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to join their team, reporting to the owners. Candidates will have either have a background in their specialized drilling services, or more likely, a background in construction that involves managing heavy equipment and crews, with a strong operation and estimating focus. Please note that we are not looking for candidates with oil-field drilling experience. This is an office-based position, where the candidate will be in contact with crews and customers, answering emails and phone calls, overseeing operations and estimating. There is potential for this position to progress to a full General Manager role down the line, depending on the candidates success. Our client is willing to relocate the right individual to the island for the role. Hours of work are generally 8AM-5PM. The compensation package will include a base salary, performance-based bonus, medical/dental and vacation benefits. Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and staff, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, industry standards and safety regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders. Collaborate with the management team to develop strategies for increasing revenue and optimizing costs. Participate in recruitment efforts, including interviewing and onboarding new employees. Crew and equipment scheduling. Quoting Jobs and responding to RFQs/RFPs. Qualifications: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a management role within the heavy equipment or construction industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff and customers. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on findings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Willing and able to work in Duncan (relocation is possible). It is a bonus if candidates have experience with the clients specialized drilling services.
