Torontos new Ontario Line subway is now under construction. The Connect 6ix consortium has a key role in this project, delivering the trains, the signaling system, and the operations, storage, and maintenance facility. Connect 6ix will also operate the Ontario Line for a 30-year term once it comes into service. The Building Lead Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operations on construction sites. This role involves managing and coordinating all activities related to construction projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Building Lead Superintendent will act as a liaison between the project management team and the field, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance with safety regulations. Manage all on-site activities, including coordinating trades, materials, and equipment. Ensure that construction activities are conducted according to project specifications, schedules, and budgets. Monitor and enforce adherence to project plans and quality standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards immediately. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Supervise and direct construction workers and subcontractors on site. Coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineers to address and resolve any on-site issues. Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure it meets the required quality standards. Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to architectural and engineering specifications. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones are met. Adjust project plans and schedules as necessary to accommodate changes and unforeseen issues. Maintain detailed and accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, logs, and inspection reports. Report project status and any issues to the Project Manager. Prepare and submit necessary documentation for project closeout. Communicate with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide project updates. Bachelors degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or as a Site Superintendent. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Proficiency in construction software and tools.
