Director of Learning, Inclusion and DiversityThe Palliser School Division invites motivated, energetic, team-oriented individuals to apply as the Director of Learning, Inclusion and Diversity . This position will oversee inclusive education, including English as an Additional Language Learners and First Nations, Metis and Inuit and will be located in Lethbridge.Palliser School Division is seeking an inspiring, dynamic, and experienced educational leader to join our senior leadership team as a Director of Learning, Inclusion and Diversity. This pivotal role will provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight for key areas impacting student achievement and educator growth across our division. The successful candidate will be a champion for equitable access to high-quality education, deeply committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and cultural responsiveness.The Division:The Palliser School Division is a public-school jurisdiction located in southern Alberta. Pallisers geographical area stretches from Coaldale to Calgary, Alberta. For the 202 5-26 school year, the Division will have approximately 8,100 students. Palliser serves students in ECS through Grade 12 in 14 community schools; 9 faith-based alternative schools, 8 of which are in Calgary on 5 separate campuses; one sports-based alternative school ; four alternative programs for Low German-speaking Mennonite families; 17 Hutterian colony schools;homeschooling, online and international programs.What We Offer:A challenging and rewarding leadership opportunity in a supportive and collaborative environment.The chance to make a significant impact on student success and educator growth.Competitive salary and benefits package .Opportunities for professional growth and development.The Role:The Director of Learning, Inclusion and Diversity will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following areas:InclusionCollaborating with school leaders to inspire a culture of inclusion.Utilizing data to inform instructional decisions and identify areas for growth.Championing innovative and equitable pedagogical approaches that promote student engagement and success.Providing mentorship and support to school based Learning Support Teams.Ensure a continuum of supports is in place and understood across the division.Promotion of community partnerships.Support schools in meeting legislation regarding development and implementation of individual program plans/individual support plansAccountable for resource allocation and reporting on provincial funding grantsEnglish as an Additional Language (EAL):Overseeing the development and implementation of effective programs and services for EAL learners.Providing leadership and resources to support teachers in meeting the diverse linguistic needs of EAL students.Advocating for culturally responsive practices that support EAL students' academic and social integration.First Nations, Mtis, and Inuit (FNMI) Education:Providing leadership in advancing reconciliation and integrating Indigenous perspectives, histories, and cultures across the curriculum.Supporting the development and implementation of culturally relevant and responsive educational practices for FNMI students.Collaborating with FNMI communities and organizations to enhance educational outcomes.Early Learning:Support leadership and strategic direction for early learning programs and initiatives.Promoting best practices in early childhood education to ensure a strong foundation for lifelong learning.Ensuring seamless transitions from early learning into kindergarten and beyond.Division-Wide Professional Development:Designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive professional development strategy for all staff within their areas of leadership.Identifying professional learning needs based on legislation, divisional priorities, curriculum, and student data.Fostering a culture of collaborative inquiry and continuous professional growth among educators.The Successful Candidate will have:Demonstrated expertise in creating inclusive learning environments.Strong understanding of current educational research, curriculum theory, and pedagogical best practices.Experience with curriculum implementation and professional development design.Knowledge of and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous education.Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills;The ability to demonstrate unwavering ethical conduct, integrity, loyalty, respect, and honesty in all interpersonal relationships.
