In this role, you will support a diverse portfolio of external clients, providing both ongoing and project-based HR consulting services tailored to each organization’s unique needs. This position is based ideally from one of our Southwestern Ontario offices (Barrie, Kitchener, Guelph, London) and offers hybrid flexibility, with an expectation of being in the office three days per week.Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients Deliver high quality work and excellent HR Consulting services to our clients with respect to full scale HR including and not limited to operational HR support, policy review and development, performance management, employee relations, compensation review and analysis (creating wage grids), provide health and safety support and legislative documentation Assist in the development and provision of training to clients as required Track expenses and time against project budgets Participate in the proposal development process Develop and prepare materials for external workshops, speaking engagements, and HR communications Organize and facilitate meetings in person and virtually Enter and maintain records relating to business development activities Provide support to the People Advisory team as required Demonstrate strong technical and professional knowledge and continuously strive to learn and develop Remain current with developments and trends in consulting services capabilities and industry knowledge through research and professional development activities Flexibility and ability to travel locally to client sites as needed How do we define success for your role? Your experience and education You have a diploma or post-secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field You hold, or are working toward, a CHRP or CHRL designation (considered an asset) You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering a wide range of HR services You have strong working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, with familiarity in WSIB, labour relations, OHSA, and pay equity audits You’re a proactive problem-solver who brings a client-first mindset and adapts quickly to changing needs You communicate clearly—both in writing and in person—and tailor your approach to different audiences You’re organized, able to manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment You’re open to local travel on an as-needed basis, recognizing it may occasionally be required to support client relationships or business needs Why BDO?Our people-first approach to talent has earned us a spot among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2025.
