We strive to be the best employer, marketing agency, and broadcaster in each of the markets we serve. Our Head Office is recruiting for an Accountant to join our Finance team in Halifax, NS . This is a great opportunity for an individual working towards or planning to pursue their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, with a robust support program to enable candidate success as they work towards their designation. Reporting to the Team Lead - Accounting, the responsibilities of the Accountant will include, but are not limited to : Supports full cycle accounting, recording, reporting, and reconciliation of financial activities ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data Prepares monthly bank reconciliation(s), assists in the reconciliation of accounts related to payables, receivables, expenses, and capital assets to ensure accuracy Manage the companys corporate credit cards and employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies Performs various financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting Assists the Accounts Payable Administrator in responding to queries relating to the processing and payment of vendor invoicing Works closely with other departments to ensure that expenses are appropriately captured and classified, and provide support as needed for financial inquiries Assists with the preparation of supporting documentation for financial audits and reporting Suggests and supports improvements to processes that enhance efficiency and accuracy in managing accounts payable, credit cards, and expense reporting Other duties as required Qualifications : Post-secondary degree in a related field 1-2 years experience in a similar role or co-op experience is considered an asset Recently completed, working towards, or a desire to, pursue an accounting designation Analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with mid-market or top-tier ERP systems is ideal Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities Highly organized, adaptable to change, and eager to learn As a member of Acadia Broadcasting, you will have access to : A Competitive compensation and benefits package which includes flexible health, dental coverage options, as well as life insurance and disability benefits Coverage of professional dues and continued education related to the CPA An annual Health Spending Account (HSA) 5% Employer Matched RRSPs A Fitness Reimbursement Program Access in our excellent Corporate Wellness Programs The radio environment is a rewarding one one that the right candidate will enjoy.
