About PVI PVI provides continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities targeting healthcare professionals at local, regional, and national levels. Driving improvements in a range of clinical practice areas and encompassing interdisciplinary approaches to disease prevention and patient diagnosis and treatment, we aim to improve patient outcomes by improving the knowledge and skills of those professionals in active patient care roles. PVI measures the success of educational interventions on the basis of their demonstrated impact on reducing the professional practice discrepancies. Status: Full-time. This is a 1-year contract position. Location: Home officebased position for Candidates in Canada only. Occasional travel required. Description: The managing editor edits and creates content, including slides, videos, downloadable practice aids, and marketing materials, for continuing medical education activities for a variety of therapeutic audiences. The ideal candidate will have superior editing skills (from copyediting to rewriting), along with the ability to help craft content that is both engaging and scientifically accurate. Successful candidates will be comfortable collaborating with medical directors, audio and video editors, and other team members in a fast-paced, home-based environment. Key Responsibilities: Edit, create, and format content in PowerPoint, Word, and Acrobat for medical education activities Suggest and/or create audiovisual elements to complement/supplement the medical content, collaborating closely with graphic designers, animators, video editors, and/or audio editors Collaborate with medical directors to determine content needs for activities Attend a variety of calls, including kick-off calls, faculty planning calls, and recordings, with internal team, faculty, and vendors Collaborate with program team and production team to handle a variety of tasks necessary to launch live, and enduring activities Write engaging publicity copy for continuing medical education activities Develop and maintain knowledge of the principles of instructional design and the rules and regulations that govern medical education and continuing professional development (eg, ACCME) and internal style requirements (eg, AMA, internal style guide) As needed, travel to live symposia to provide editorial support Qualifications: At least 5 years of medical editing experience with a focus on substantive editing, developing content, rewriting, fact checking, and copyediting An undergraduate degree in science, communications, or journalism Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat Professional Proven ability to adapt editorial approach based on the content format (eg, live, print, multimedia) Experience with AMA style Proven ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple projects/assignments in various stages of development, and meet timelines, all while maintaining high standards of quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team
