Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing mechanical support and expertise to all areas of the underground and surface operations. About the Role This position requires a thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of mining equipment and the motivation to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting work orders and technical manuals, ensuring projects are carried out meticulously while meeting all time constraints, and troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. They will also be responsible for overhaul, maintenance, service, and reconditioning of mining equipment, determining the extent of repair required, adjusting equipment, and testing repaired equipment for proper performance. Key Responsibilities Repairing the surface and underground mechanical equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner. Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work. Providing direction and training to all levels of mechanics as needed and other departments as required. Assisting in the forecasting of parts. Making recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggesting methods of improvement. Requirements A valid Red Seal certification in a relevant trade is required. Minimum 2-3 years of experience with heavy-duty equipment is necessary. Alimak experience is an asset. Valid Red Seal certification in a relevant trade. Must be eligible to obtain a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL Card) for handling explosives. Experience working in safety-sensitive environments; experience with explosives is an asset. Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Schedule & Transportation Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off at a remote camp. Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) with pick-up locations in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge. Shifts: Alternating 2-week periods of day shifts (6:00 AM 6:00 PM) and night shifts (6:00 PM 6:00 AM).
