Job Description

Transportation Leadership Role We are seeking an experienced transportation professional to join our team as a Director of Transportation. This key leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing transportation strategies that align with company objectives and customer service expectations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading large teams and multimodal transportation networks, with expertise in DOT regulations, freight logistics, and fleet operations. Solid knowledge of TMS platforms and data analytics tools is essential, as well as excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. About the Role: Develop transportation strategies aligned with company objectives and customer service expectations Lead initiatives to optimize routes, reduce costs, improve delivery timelines, and enhance sustainability Manage daily transportation operations, including third-party logistics providers Work with EHS to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards for transportation Source and train 3PL partners and their drivers Foster a safety-focused, performance-driven culture Develop and manage transportation budgets, forecasts, and cost-control initiatives Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, leasing companies, and service providers Maintain strong communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure delivery performance and satisfaction Resolve transportation-related issues and implement preventive measures Evaluate and lead the implementation of transportation management systems (TMS), GPS tracking, and automation tools Identify and drive process improvements through data and analytics Requirements: Bachelor''s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field 8-10+ years of progressive experience in transportation and logistics Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, freight logistics, and fleet operations, Canada and US Proven leadership experience managing large teams and multimodal transportation networks Proficient with TMS platforms and data analytics tools Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Benefits: Extended health care Vision care Disability insurance Life insurance Dental care We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
