The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of machinery and equipment, along with experience in evaluating and pricing complex risks. This role requires an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and internal teams.What You Will DoUnderwrite equipment breakdown insurance policies by assessing risk, pricing coverage, and determining appropriate terms and conditions.Analyze technical specifications and maintenance records of clients to evaluate the risk.Work closely with brokers and clients to gather relevant information and answer policy-related inquiries.Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored coverage solutions for clients.Monitor and manage the performance of existing policies, making adjustments as necessary.Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to machinery breakdown insurance.Deliver best in class customer serviceWhat You Will BringBachelor's degree in insurance, engineering, business, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in machinery breakdown underwriting or a similar role within the insurance industry.Strong understanding of machinery and equipment, including their operation, maintenance, and failure modes.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and brokers.Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.What You Will GetCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity for professional development and growth within a dynamic company.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.Work-life balance and flexible work options.If this sounds like you and you have a passion for delivering exceptional service, we would love to hear from you!Additional Information: Aviva Canada has an accommodation process in place to provide accommodations for employees with disabilities.
