Your new companyThis organization has been in operation since 1986 operating in the real estate market and has been expanding into the commercial and health care fields. These community focused builders operate in 3 provinces across Canada and are looking to add a new well rounded Sr Paralegal to their team in Edmonton at their head office.Your new roleThe role is available as the previous Paralegal had been promoted within the organization; They are looking for a motivated and well rounded Senior Paralegal to join their team. You wont be supporting Lawyers, instead you will be operating on a team of other Paralegals supporting the firm. The Senior Paralegal plays a key role in supporting the legal operations of the organization, providing high-level support on real estate transactions, contract management, litigation coordination, and regulatory compliance. Ensuring the Legal Team functions efficiently and aligns with corporate objectives, legislative requirements, and risk management practices, the Senior Paralegal collaborates closely with internal departments, senior leaders, and external counsel to develop policies, improve processes, and support business growth. With a strong focus on team development, strategic oversight, and cross-functional collaboration, the Senior Paralegal ensures that legal matters are handled with professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency.The primary function of your role will be: Provide strategic legal guidance to senior leadership, identifying areas of company exposure and advising on mitigation strategies. Lead regular team meetings and cross-departmental communications to maintain consistency across regions. Mentor and develop legal team members, building leadership capacity and preparing for future growth. Foster a collaborative and engaged team culture by supporting employee development and recognition. Develop, implement, and maintain internal legal policies aligned with current legislation and organizational goals. Collaborate with multifamily project managers, Treasury, and Accounting to standardize operating procedures and ensure legal alignment. Provide legal support on real estate transactions, financings, and other corporate matters in partnership with external counsel.What you'll need to succeed Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Paralegal. Previous experience focused in real estate and/or litigation and/or contract review Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation. Paralegal Studies Diploma or Business Administration Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
