Our modular solutions reduce construction time, improve quality control, and promote sustainable building practices.Position OverviewThe Pre-Construction Sales Representative plays a critical role in assisting with the development of pursuit submissions for modular projects across Canada and internationally. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the successful candidate will assist with capturing public and private opportunities ranging from roughly $1 million to $40 million by drawing on exceptional construction industry knowledge, technical proficiency, and proven communication skills. This position will be part of the team responsible for the quarterbacking the pre-construction process, including generating and qualifying leads, assessing client needs, developing, submitting and tracking proposals, all while demonstrating a high service level, growing our customer base and achieving established targets. The successful candidate will have a solid background in the pre-construction and procurement process, meticulous attention to detail to prepare bid and proposal packages, and the ability to efficiently juggle multiple tasks across different stages of the client/procurement process.Key AccountabilitiesSpearhead large and multidisciplinary pursuit teams composed of, but not limited to, estimators; schedulers/planners; project coordinators; design and construction professionals; and the marketing team, as well as external parties including design and construction partners and subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants. Collaborate with leadership, clients, and design and construction partners to identify and exploit strategic opportunities and develop an optimal pursuit submission and path to successful execution. Regularly coordinate with and report to the Director of Sales, coordinate and oversee pursuit-specific working groups (cost estimation, procurement, design, risk, schedule, proposal, etc.). Identify prospective clients (includes sourcing bid opportunities through client/procurement sites and coordinating with the design team to create conceptual building design development), generating opportunities into bid/proposal submissions and converting them to sales. Establish and maintain company client relations through consistent communication, client visits, building trust and providing service excellence and ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up and after-sales service. Review and properly analyze in-bound proposal requests that meet Feros pre-qualification requirements and prepare and submit detailed bid proposals, including the review of the final bid submittal packages for document completeness prior to closing. Support the development of technical and commercial submissions and ensure overall quality, competitiveness, and adherence to requirements. Function as the primary point of contact internally and externally for the specific procurement opportunities that you are coordinating and ensure strict, team-wide adherence to the bid timeliness. Provide support in negotiating all contracts/POs with prospective clients. Manage multiple pursuits concurrently. Meet or exceed quarterly and yearly sales targets and performance objectives. Support preparation of weekly and monthly sales reports as needed (ie: Maintain a regular reporting of pipeline and forecasts to the Director of Sales) and update and log customer information and interactions in company CRM system. Assist with developing sales strategies, techniques and tactics based on advice, customer feedback and the market environment. Identify and engage opportunities to grow the business pipeline within the varying market verticals and user/buying groups and identify unique client specific value propositions and offer value-added solutions. Attend conferences, trade shows, open-houses, factory tours, and community and industry events and give sales presentations to a range of prospective clients when necessary. Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures. Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct and health and safety rules and procedures. May perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Qualifications5+ years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, including demonstrated technical construction knowledge and pre-construction/sales capabilities. Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or combination of relevant education and industry experience is considered an asset Experience with developing, scheduling, and managing bid proposals. Modular construction experience will be an asset. Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as estimating, trade agreements, engineering, cost control and scheduling. Proven ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and applicable building codes with accuracy and efficiency Excellent understanding of project risk management (including technical, schedule, commercial/contractual, etc.) Knowledge of project management principles and practices sufficient for leading cross-functional teams Highly motivated and target driven with experience managing and winning +$5M pursuits Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiating skills can present bid proposals and presentations to clients. Can professionally answer questions and address concerns. Ability to prioritize and multi-task within a fast-paced environment and operate within tight deadlines and sales quota. Can work on multiple and diverse projects simultaneously. Excellent time management skills - can meet proposal deadlines and sales quotas. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Sound judgement and excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and collaborator stakeholder engagement skills Experience in MS Office applications (Word, Project, Power Point, Excel), Adobe Acrobat and/Bluebeam. Understanding of CCDC Documents will be considered an asset. Ability to work on evenings and weekends and to travel as needed.
