JOB DESCRIPTIONInsight Global is looking for two Control Technicians to join a facilities and services department. These individuals will maintain, install, troubleshoot, and calibrate all types of Sensors, instruments, and programmable controllers on environmental control systems. Typical Duties Include: a) Inspecting, troubleshooting and testing the operation of control systems and life/safety monitoring systems to diagnose faults and resolve breakdownsb) Repairing, maintaining, calibrating, adjusting and installing control instrumentationd) Using engineering drawings, wiring up control panels, setting up pneumatic control logicse) Installing new BAS instrumentation equipment on existing running systemsf) Performing scheduled preventative maintenance work on control equipment, including instrument replacementg) Updating DDC/DCS programs from sequence narrativesh) Work with Working Supervisors and Building Operating Engineers to establish new or better means of controlling temperatures and humidity in buildings and experimental labs as requiredi) Maintain or revise maintenance procedures for newly installed equipment or instruments used for testing, measuring, monitoring and controlling flows, levels, pressures, temperatures and other variablesREQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- 5+ years of practical experience in programming, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of DDC and Building automation control systems. - Proficient with programming using Siemens (Apogee), Honeywell (Comfort point-EBI), and Johnson Control (Metasys - CCT, SCT, GX9100, HVAC Pro).- Proficient in Windows, Word, and Excel. - Strong communication skills and enjoys working in a structured team environment.- Diploma from a recognized Ontario technical college as an Instrumentation Technician or Building Environmental Systems. Ability and Experience with the following responsibilities: - Ability to read and interpret circuit & control diagrams and schematics.- Experience in inspecting and testing the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using testing instruments.- Experience refurbishing and servicing final control elements.- Ability to complete maintenance reports, repairing and adjusting system and replacing defective parts. Calibrating instruments, performing scheduled preventative maintenance work on control and measurement instruments for existing or new plant equipment, and observing safety by government and company standards.- Programming and setting up network control systems with functional block diagram (FBD), Statement Logic (STL) and Ladder logic (LL) based application environments. Verify and calibrate various flow and BTU meters (used for billing).NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Experience with pneumatic, electromechanical, electronic, and programmable controllers related to building HVAC is a plus.
