This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual who will be accountable for originating equipment financing opportunities through direct solicitation in their assigned territory, as well as co-developing equipment finance opportunities from within existing ATB client portfolios.The Director, Capital Asset Financing will be responsible for actively soliciting net-new equipment finance relationships within their designated markets and converting these relationships to new business for ATB. The candidate will possess and create a strong network of contacts from which a variety of new equipment finance opportunities can be obtained directly. The candidate will also be responsible for identifying and referring traditional banking opportunities to appropriate ATB associates.The primary focus of the Equipment Finance Sales Team is to solicit new equipment finance opportunities from net-new ATB clients as well as through co-developing equipment finance opportunities from within existing ATB client portfolios. The Team works cooperatively with the ATB Credit and Operations teams to ensure that opportunities are underwritten and documented in a professional and client-centric manner with strict adherence to all ATB risk management policies and procedures.We are looking for a business savvy, fearless, yet accurate and determined individual. We are looking for someone who has aspirations to re-imagine existing processes and be relentlessly inventive; who genuinely believes that financial markets can have a transformational impact on the business and has an understanding of the mechanics behind it.This portfolio will be supporting our clients in Edmonton, Fort McMurray & LloydminsterAccountabilitiesConduct sales calls with clients, prospects and centers of influence regularly, spending over 80% of their time prospecting or enhancing relationships.Collaborate with sales directors from ATB Business to identify and convert equipment finance opportunities, often including making joint sales calls, as well as referring business to these directors as traditional banking opportunities are identified.Analyze and negotiate equipment finance opportunities to maximize the profitability of the client relationship.Ensure credit recommendations are in accordance with sound lending principles and are in accordance with ATB lending policy and procedures.Coordinate the underwriting, documentation, and funding of equipment finance opportunities by working cooperatively with the ATB Credit and Operations teams.Meet or exceed goals and targets related to growth of their assigned territory, which includes both net-new relationships and those co-developed with ATB sales directors.Establish and maintain relationships with key sources of new client referrals such as equipment dealers, accountants, lawyers, and trade association members.Establish and enhance ATB's presence and profile in the equipment finance market by participating in business and community activities.Work effectively with all ATB teammates including those in ATB Business, Corporate Credit, and elsewhere.Skills, experience & requirementsStrong knowledge of Equipment Finance lending and leasing policies and productsProven ability to generate new business and meet growth targets through direct solicitation in new marketsAbility to work collaboratively with other sales professionals to co-manage client relationshipsProven network of business, personal and professional contactsProven ability to provide creative, client-centric equipment financing solutionsStrong leadership skills effectively managing the complexities of working within a deal-teamStrong financial analysis skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsMinimum 5-8 years of equipment finance sales experienceAbility to work flexible hours including weekends and eveningsWill require some travel throughout AlbertaBusiness or marketing related degree or diploma or related equivalent experienceGraduate degree and / or CFA designation would be an assetSales training and sales management courses or equivalent would be an assetDon't meet all the requirements on the list?A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring.
