The Senior DLP Security Engineer plays a key role in developing, implementing, and leading data loss prevention strategies to protect sensitive data from accidental or intentional exposure. This position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and to protect the organization's data assets.Position Responsibilities:Implement, and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to safeguard sensitive data from unauthorized disclosure, loss, or leakageConfigure and deploy DLP policies, rules, and alerts across DLP platformsCollaborate with multi-functional teams, including IT, Legal, and Compliance, to ensure DLP strategies align with regulatory requirements and industry standardsConduct data discovery and classification exercises to identify and categorize sensitive data across the organizationIntegrate DLP solutions with existing security infrastructure, including firewalls, proxies, and endpoint protection systemsStay ahead with the latest trends and developments in DLP technologies, data protection regulations, and industry standard processesDevelop DLP configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for reference and future useRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent military or OTJ experience. At least 7 years of relevant technical experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber securityAt least 2 years of experience working in an agile delivery teamDeep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with leading DLP platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, Symantec DLP, McAfee DLP, or Forcepoint DLPIn-depth knowledge of DLP concepts, methodologies, and tools, including content analysis, data classification, and network and endpoint DLP solutionsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with scripting (e.g., Python, Perl, Powershell, etc.) for automation and integrationValidated foundation in database management and query methodologiesFamiliarity with network protocols, cloud and endpoint security technologies, and data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001)Proficient in configuring DLP policies, rules, and alerts to implement data protection policies and prevent data lossExperience with data discovery and classification tools to identify sensitive data and define appropriate protection measuresExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address DLP risks and incidents efficientlyGood communication and collaboration skills to work efficiently with globally distributed multi-functional teams and partnersAbility to work independently, lead multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.When you join our team:Well empower you to learn and grow the career you want.Well recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.As part of our global team, well support you in shaping the future you want to see.About Manulife and John HancockManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
