Preconstruction Manager, Building Prince George / Remote IDL Projects Inc. As a Preconstruction Manager within IDLs Building Division, you will lead the planning and coordination of construction projects before they break ground. The portfolio of projects will vary and include commercial, residential, public, and institutional sectors. These projects will be located throughout British Columbia, primarily in the northern or northwestern regions of the province. Youll be responsible for conceptual budgeting (Class D to tender), project planning, and collaborating with design teams to ensure project feasibility and alignment with client goals. This role involves identifying risks, securing permits, and preparing procurement strategies to support a smooth transition into construction. The company is open to candidates based in Prince George or those working fully remotely. IDL requires a minimum of 5+ years experience as a Preconstruction Manager with a General Contractor and/or Developer-Builder in BC. A proven track record of delivering new-build residential, commercial, public, and/or institutional projects is essential. Ideally, the candidate will have a technical background in Carpentry, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Experience working on remote projects, as well as with in-house crews and external subtrades, is considered an asset. Familiarity with wood frame, CLT, and/or steel structure construction is also an asset. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills, along with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and the organizational capabilities needed to set projects up for success.
