Position SummaryThe Die-Cutting Operator is responsible for operating a GM or ABG flexo converting presses.Work Schedule: Afternoon ShiftMonday-Thursday, 4pm-2:30amWeekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:30am-7:00pmReports To: Shift SupervisorEssential FunctionsRun GM or ABG flexo converting press as per company's standards. Examine job orders to determine details such as rolls to be die-cut, production times, stock specifications, laminate, varnish specifications, and anilox BCM.Select and install dies, spot plate, metering roller, anilox roller, doctor blade, varnish/laminate stations, knife blades in machine according to specifications, using hand tools.Monitor feeding, die-cutting, and finishing processes of presses to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.Collect retains, perform quality tests and visual inspections of rolls.Be the first response to safety, quality, and productivity troubleshooting.Understand shop floor metrics and being responsible for the teams results vs. targets.Other duties as assigned.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCompetency StatementsAccountability: The extent to which an individual is willing to accept responsibility.Adaptability: The extent to which an individual can fit into a changing work environment.Communication, Oral & Written: The extent to which an individual communicates with clarity, actively engaging in conversations in order to clearly understand others message and intent, and receives and processes feedback.Problem Solving: The ability to recognize courses of action which can be taken to handle problems or potential problems.Safety Awareness: The ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.SKILLS & ABILITIESRequired EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDPreferred EducationTechnical Certification or Associates degree in printing processes.Preferred ExperienceFive years previous flexographic printing experience.Computer SkillsMust have working knowledge of the use of a PC and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Physical DemandsStand: ConstantlyWalk, Reach (Outward/Above Shoulder), Handle/Finger, Bend: FrequentlySit, Climb, Crawl, Squat/Kneel: OccasionallyLifting/Carrying0-10 lbs: Constantly11-50 lbs: Frequently51-100+ lbs: OccasionallyPush/Pull0-25 lbs: Constantly26-100 lbs: OccasionallyOther Physical RequirementsVision (near, distance, peripheral, depth perception)Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, goggles, or shields, and cut-resistant gloves.WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed indoors in a manufacturing setting with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, and moving machines/equipment.Lorpon Labels is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Women, Protected Veterans and Persons with Disabilities.
