Job Title: Engineering Manager Job Description: Nuclear Equipment Design and FabricationLocation: Niagara Falls, ONJob Type: Full-TimeReports To: President Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a strong background in nuclear design and advanced manufacturing. This role is ideal for a technically sophisticated, detail-oriented, and hands-on engineer who thrives in complex, high-stakes environments. You will be responsible for leading mechanical design and Fabrication efforts related to nuclear component and waste container design and fabrication, including, calculation, modeling, detailed drawings, jig/fixture design, Material / equipment selection and adherence to rigorous nuclear codes and standards.Key Responsibilities:Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of an engineering department.Develop and implement procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department and fabrication shop.Overseeing a team of Engineers in the completion of engineering projects.Develop detailed plans for new designs and products.Making determinations for equipment, staff and training needsProposing project and program budgetsAs a hands-on leader of the Engineering team, you would lead and execute the mechanical design of nuclear components, especially nuclear waste containers, reactor components, and structural assemblies. Develop 3D CAD models and production-ready drawings using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.Design custom jigs, fixtures, and tools to support efficient and high-quality fabrication and welding processes.Interpret and apply welding codes and standards (ASME Section III, VIII, II, II, IX, V CSA S16, N285, N299, CWB-CSA W59, W47, AWS D1.1 etc.) in the design and manufacturing process.Collaborate closely with the shop floor, quality assurance, and project teams to ensure manufacturability and code compliance.Generate and review technical documentation including design reports, fabrication procedures, and inspection test plans.Provide technical leadership in process improvement and troubleshooting during fabrication.Ensure all designs and fabrication activities meet regulatory and safety requirements.Act as the engineering authority in client meetings, technical reviews, and audits related to nuclear fabrication projects.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.Fifteen (15) years or more of design and fabrication engineering experience, with at least ten (10) years in the nuclear industry.Full knowledge of creating/preparing design and calculation report for nuclear pressure and containment boundary components including, TSSA registration (CRN) as per ASME code.Full knowledge of material selection including mechanical and structural failure analysis.Strong knowledge and experience of reviewing and sealing engineering design and calculation report.Strategic vision with the ability to execute and strong leadership ability and maturity.Impeccable judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation techniques / skills.Design, calculation, 3D modeling, stress analysis (FEA) and drawing-GD&T.Advance/high precision and conventional machine shop processes knowledge and experience.Full experience in designing, improving-innovating, and fabricating of custom lifting-handling devicesStrong knowledge of welding automation / processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW) and inspection methods (VT, PT, RT, UT, MT, and LT).In-depth experience with nuclear codes and standards (ASME Section III, VIII, II, II, IX, V, B31 CSA S16, N285, N299, CWB-CSA W59, W47, AWS D1.1 etc.)Proficient in CAD modeling and drafting tools (SolidWorks).Demonstrated experience designing fixtures and jigs for manufacturing environments.Familiar with electrical safety (ESA) regulations, related codes, and standards.High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (ERP, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Hands-on manufacturing or fabrication experience is a must.Experience in nuclear waste container fabrication is a strong asset.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Why Join Us?Be a key player in Canadas nuclear innovation and clean energy initiatives.Work in a technically challenging and rewarding environment.Join a collaborative team with growth and leadership opportunities.Competitive salary and benefits package.If youre a technically sharp, code-savvy, and manufacturing-oriented engineer with a passion for nuclear design, we want to hear from you.
