The Senior Cost Controls Specialist impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities.Base Salary Range: $109,500 138,500 (The range provided is for base salary only. In addition, McDermott offers a competitive total rewards package, including annual bonuses)Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesUnderstands constructability concepts, workflow processes (the how its built) & related interdependencies between Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and ConstructionAble to understand and apply contractual requirements and implementation on the project via the project controls execution planSet up and implement project controls systemsSet up and maintain project controls reportsAdheres to McDermott's internal project controls processesAnalyze and interpret cost forecasting and trendingRecommend solutions or recovery plans for problem areasPrepare Project Forecast monthlyAssist finance in preparation of the project cash flows and cost spreadParticipate in proposal development, commercial alignment, and project kickoff processesTrain junior personnel in all aspects of cost reportingMonitor variations from the scope of work, capture, maintain, and assess related impactsSet up and maintain the progress measurement systemLead change management efforts, including building of cost estimates and applying or managing amendments to the contractImplement and support the Change Management process Support the Subcontract Management team in verification of progress and earned value against invoices received Support determining the required monthly accruals that are processed by accounts payableMonitor cost coding system is properly applied, and information flow is correct and completeAnalyze committed costs and activities to date, actual vs budget, performance, and productivityPerform any other related duties as required Essential Qualifications and EducationBachelors degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields7-10 years of experience in a similar roleGood knowledge of MS OfficeProblem-solving attitude and high level of coordination skillsAbility to understand the project scope, schedule, and its relationship to cost and progressDemonstrated effectiveness in prioritizing multiple tasks, and managing efforts to meet deadlinesDemonstrated effectiveness in working with others in a multifunctional teamHas good working knowledge and understanding of cost, schedule, estimating, and accounting interfacesAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
