Job Description

Occupational Therapist Children and Youth ServicesMPA are retained by a leading non-profit organization to recruit for an Occupational Therapist to join their team in downtown Toronto. The client provides care to children and young people through both community and inpatient services. In this role, the Occupational Therapist will provide services to clients accessing inpatient services. You will work closely with clients, family members, colleagues on the inpatient team and other inter-professional team members regarding the care, treatment progress and discharge of clients. ResponsibilitiesSupports the provision of mental health treatment services to clientsProvides assessment and intervention services to clientsAssists clients in the enhancement of community living skills, including employment skills, social skills and appropriate behavior.Plans and provides occupational therapy assessments and treatments to clients.Documents information such as relevant clinical data, progress reports and outcomes.Provides clinical input and suggestions related to the management of clients to ensure quality of care is deliveredAssists client to develop, recover or maintain activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) skillsDevelops therapeutic alliance with clients and their significant othersMonitors treatment regimesAssesses mental status and monitor physical health needsAssesses client needs and link to appropriate resourcesProvides support and education to family members and significant othersCollaborates service provision with other team members and community partnersRequirementsMasters Degree in Occupational Therapy and Registration with the College of Occupational TherapistsChildren and youth mental health experience, communitybased experience a definite assetExcellent skills in mental health assessment and teaching, case management, decision making, and effective crisis interventionDemonstrate the ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations for youth and adults experiencing mental illnessWhats on offer:Opportunity to grow in a challenging but rewarding workplace.Competitive remuneration Full benefits including health, dental, vision careVacation time + paid sick leave If this opportunity would be of interest to you, please reach out to for more details.
