When choosing the right products to carry we focus on fresh, organic, and specialty products that cannot be found within the Niagara Region. **About The Role** Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, as **Cook**, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, kitchen preparation, preparing hot food items, packaging, serving, maintaining store displays, and providing daily support to our kitchen department. **Type**: Part Time | Permanent **Schedule**: Day, Afternoon, and Evening Shifts | Between 6am to 8pm **Hours per Week**: 20 to 32 hours **Education**: Highschool (preferred) **Why Join Us?** * Store discount card. * Discounts on bistro items. * Free parking. * Competitive wages. * Career growth opportunities. * Be part of an amazing team that LOVES food! **Your Responsibilities** * As a Cook in a grocery store environment, you are responsible for delivering fresh, high-quality food offerings while providing excellent customer service. Your role supports the daily operations of the prepared foods or deli department, ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and attractive product presentation. **Key Responsibilities:** **Customer Service:** * Greet customers in a warm, friendly, and professional manner. * Answer questions about food items, ingredients, preparation methods, and specials. Assist customers with selections and provide samples when appropriate to enhance the shopping experience. **Food Preparation and Cooking:** * Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold food items according to standardized recipes and food safety guidelines. * Ensure all prepared foods meet taste, texture, and presentation standards. * Monitor food temperatures and rotation to maintain freshness and prevent waste. **Department Maintenance and Merchandising:** * Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, prep areas, and service stations. * Keep display cases, hot bars, and self-service areas fully stocked and attractively arranged. * Ensure signage is accurate, up-to-date, and clearly communicates product details and pricing. **Inventory and Stock Management:** * Monitor inventory levels of prepared food ingredients, packaging supplies, and kitchen tools. * Communicate with department leads or managers about restocking needs and product availability. * Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing incoming stock, rotating per FIFO (First-In, First-Out) guidelines. * **About You** * Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is considered an asset. * Exceptional customer service skills. * Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds. * Must be able to stand, lift, carry, and walk for extended periods of time. * Available to work: days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. **How You Join Us** Qualified candidates, please send your resume or we welcome walk-ins; please bring your resume to our customer service desk.
