Job DescriptionHospital Donation Physician Toronto, ON | 1 Day/Month | Duration: 2 years, 8 monthsThe Hospital Donation Physician plays a vital leadership role in supporting and advancing organ and tissue donation as an integrated part of high-quality end-of-life care.Key ResponsibilitiesCo-chair the hospitals organ and tissue donation committeePromote and integrate donation best practices into standard end-of-life careProvide education on mandatory physician responsibilities under the Gift of Life ActCollaborate with hospital leadership to align donation policies and practicesAdvocate for necessary resources and identify barriers to donationAnalyze and communicate performance metrics to drive continuous improvementWork with medical leads to establish and evaluate goals for referral, identification, and family engagement processesParticipate in national donation physician education and annual conferencesQualificationsLicensed and practicing physician in Ontario, in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)Minimum 2 years of clinical experienceCertified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; specialization in Critical Care Medicine preferredActively practicing at a hospital site; critical care affiliation preferredStrong communication and relationship management skillsExperience or familiarity with organ and tissue donation processes in Ontario is an asset.
