Job Description The Senior Legal Counsel will play a critical role in providing high-level professional legal services to the organization, offering strategic guidance and managing legal and regulatory matters. Provide business partners with day-to-day advice, counsel, and support in all areas of law to further the interests of the business while protecting the company''s legal interests. Prepare and negotiate commercial agreements, review sales and purchasing arrangements, advise on special projects, and manage strategically important matters requiring sophisticated legal knowledge. Partner with business colleagues to pursue opportunities, support compliance with legislation, and enhance company policies. Assist in managing external counsel and transactions, ensuring efficient use of legal resources. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, motivated individual with a proven ability to get the job done. Key qualifications include: JD/LLB with a minimum of 10 years'' post-call experience in general corporate/commercial matters, mergers & acquisitions, and labour & employment. Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. Excellent skills in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. In-house experience in manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry is preferred. Superior personal and professional integrity, with the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects. This role requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build cooperative relationships and deliver practical advice. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and manage internal client expectations.
