Our CASL Surface Technologies division is a corrosion and wear solutions provider with over 25 years of experience, and we are looking to add to our growing team at our Nisku Facility. The Opportunity: The Grinder works with the coatings team and utilizes a variety of grinding machines to prep and finish components to required customer and internal specifications. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints Determine product specifications and calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments Measuring, examining, and testing completed units to ensure the requirements are met by using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, and preset gauges) Remove carbide, chrome, and steel using appropriate abrasive and/or rough and finish grind to tight tolerances (up to 0.0005) Determine and monitor the feed and speed of machines as well as abrasive selection for honing Observe operating machines and equipment to prevent, and if needed, diagnose machine malfunctions requiring maintenance adjustments, or repair Lift or hoist work pieces Outer Diameter and Inner Diameter grinding Maintain a clean and safe work area Job Requirements Previous experience in grinding and/or machining considered an asset Applicants with technical training preferred Working knowledge of manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and precision measuring tools Able to lift 50 lbs
