Wellspring is seeking independent professionals to provide direct leadership of our Cancer Exercise program.This is an independent, fee-for-service contract. Opportunities are available for online program leadership and for programs that take place at our Toronto centre and other Toronto locations.ResponsibilitiesAssess new members upon entrance to the programCreate personalized exercise program for membersWork with other professional leaders and advise Wellspring staff on the creation of safety plans for high-risk membersLead and manage exercise classes made up of multiple members each working on their own individual programsKeep detailed progress notes, assessment and reassessment and discharge protocolsEquipment set up and take down as requiredRecord class attendanceProgram modifications as needed in consultation with co-leadersSupervision and direction of cancer exercise volunteers as necessaryAdhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Wellspring Program Leaders GuideRequired QualificationsA graduate of a recognized Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, or Exercise Physiology post-secondary institutionA member in good standing with the association governing their discipline (e.g. Ontario College of Physiotherapists, College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology)Prior experience working with populations with serious health issues, conditions, or diseaseCertification in health care professional level CPR, AED and First Aid TrainingKnowledge of oncology an assetFluency in EnglishAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentMature, professional demeanorPlease a send cover letter and CV with Exercise Program Leader in the subject line to: Gerilyn Danischewsky at promotesdiversityand adheres to the tenets of the Ontario Human Rights Code.
