Job Description

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategy execution in accordance with the direction set by the board, along with maintaining the daily operations of the SCF to ensure the overall health of the organization.As an experienced leader, you will be the face of the organization and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, volunteers, staff, community agencies and partners, the business community, and community members.You will foster awareness in the community so that SCF remains top of mind for current and future donors, thereby growing the scale and scope of impact.Through your leadership as CEO, the SCF is seen as a collaborative and respected partner in creating a vibrant community.WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO WORK WITH SCF?Since its inception, the SCF has made hundreds of grants supporting a wide range of community needs, including education, health, arts and culture, people with disabilities, environment, family, children and youth, poverty, and other causes that matter to the people of Saskatoon.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYBuilding endowments assure an effective fund development program by serving as the chief development officer and supervising responsible staff.Community relations facilitate the integration of the SCF into the community through effective marketing and communication activities.Strategic planning assist the Board in planning and collaborate on defining values, mission, vision, and setting short- and long-term goals.Finance monitor, report, and assess the fiscal activities of the organization with support from the Audit and Finance Committee.Management and administration develop and implement systems, policies, and strategies to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, including timely filing of legal documents.Governance work with the Board President/Chair to enable effective governance and facilitate optimal performance of the Board and its committees.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESYou operate proactively and are highly intuitive in anticipating workflow processes.
