This is a 1-year contract covering a maternity leave.What Youll Be DoingPlan, organize, direct, and monitor the operational activities of the Nursing DepartmentEstablish and implement goals, objectives and policies that follow regulatory requirements and are aligned with the organizations values.Apply a resident-centered care approach that focuses on relationships and actively engages residents, families, and extended team membersPromote a positive and safe work environment for staff and residentsWhat You BringDegree / Diploma in NursingMinimum of three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care settingMinimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the long-term care sectorCurrent registration as a Registered Nurse with the applicable Provincial licensing body is required as well as the successful completion of Nursing Unit Administrator ProgramCurrent C.P.R. designation is requiredValues of Respect, Integrity, Compassion & ExcellenceMust provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.What Youll GetContinuous mentorship, support for life-long learning and growth opportunitiesOpportunities for advancement and career growth within the organizationA rewarding and meaningful work experience where you can enrich your life and the lives of othersExtendicare is a leading provider of care and services for seniors throughout Canada.
