In this role, you will be responsible for:Work closely with technical leads for assigned projects to assist in design and implementation tasksDesign and implementation of innovative, low-latency, high-performance Java-based capabilities on the Mastercard Fraud Platform.Work as part of a co-located Agile Scrum team.Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical leads and other developers to define user stories.Develop high-quality, scalable and secure software solutions.Assist with operational issues by troubleshooting incidents.Research alternative technical solutions to meet changing business needs.Work with project team to meet due dates, while working through emerging issues and recommending solutions.Produce design documentation in accordance with Mastercard documentation standards.All About YouMust be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and have the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.Must provide the necessary skills to have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.Possesses strong communication skills -- both verbal and written and strong relationship, collaborative skills and organizational skills.Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and to work as a member of geographically distributed project team.Good knowledge of Agile software development processes.Comfortable working in a Linux environment, using VI editor and general command line proficiencyEssential SkillsProficiency with Java JDK 8 or greater.Creating and debugging J2EE REST Web Services, gRPC-based service development and Web ApplicationsDatabase experience including Oracle and SQL scriptingExperience with Spring Framework (including Spring Boot) and MavenExperience writing unit tests with Junit and MockitoExperience working with JBoss and/or Apache TomcatExperience with Git.Desirable skillsMessaging MQ and JMSBusiness rules execution systems (e.g. IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM - formerly ILOG) or JBoss Drools)Experience working with containerised environments, such as Kubernetes/OpenShift/CloudFoundryExperience with integration frameworks such as Apache Camel/Spring IntegrationKnowledge of distributed systems and messaging queuing systems.Knowledge of Splunk or other alerting and monitoring solutions.Knowledge of Tomcat, Spring, Spring Boot, Shell Scripting, JSON.Mastercard is a merit-based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
