Working with clients and other team members, you will responsible for gathering requirements from the client for development, testing and implementation. This work will give you a chance to leverage your experience using Microsoft Power BI and dig deep into various data sources to obtain a better understanding of any organization. You are often leading solutions and providing support to other team members.Major Areas of ResponsibilityDevelop a deep understanding of the business needs and the data challenges of the clients organizations and their industriesConceptualize, design and implement MS Power BI solutions from the existing data warehouse, and other enterprise data sourcesAssist the BI Architect and often design logical and physical dimensional data mart modelsUtilize Power BI to build interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards for deployment in Windows/ Web-based environments in accordance with predefined detailed report specificationsConduct unit & integration tests, assisting in test preparations to ensure data integrity, data quality, and program functional completeness & correctnessLeverage and extend processes aligned to data visualization best practices (as defined or adopted by the client) and standards, ensure quality (Alignment to form, fit and function)Perform detailed analysis on tested and deployed Power BI scriptsMake essential technical and strategic changes to optimize Power BI environmentsSQL querying for better resultsProduce and maintain technical documentation for colleagues, as well as procedures for end usersParticipate in the development of project plans to establish appropriate workload expectations and schedulesRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities5+ years of experience in a Power BI Developer, or similar data-related role, developing sophisticated solutions and uncovering actionable insightsSolid experience with DAX, M and SQL languagesExperience with Ms Power BI Dataflows, DAX studio, SSRS and SSASAbility to create reports with large data sets and visualization tables for Business Intelligence needsPractical knowledge in Ms Power BI service architecture design and administration, defining roles and securityGeneral knowledge in Data warehousing, including data source analysis and profiling, as well as Relational DBMSExcellent analytical skills and ability to present ideas and recommendations to various stakeholdersExperience in programming, scripting, automation and customization initiativesCritical thinking capabilities and a consultative mindsetBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or relatedNice to HaveExperience with other BI toolsExperience with the Azure data platform (e.g., ADLS, Synapse, ADF, Databricks etc.)Agile delivery methodology, DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment concepts and methodsPrior experience in consultingERWIN or another data modelling tool is an assetIn our commitment to promote fair and equitable treatment of all employees and applicants, Project X Ltd. provides equal employment opportunities for all individuals regardless of age, sex, disability, race, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sexual orientation, marital status or any other ground as described in the Ontario Human Rights Code.
