You will be supporting the international roll-out of our approved prostate cancer imaging agent and helping us to advance our portfolio of late clinical-stage products that address significant unmet need in oncology and rare diseases.See Yourself at TelixThe Associate Scientist, Chemistry Development is responsible for the advancement and implementation of methods used to manufacture high value radioisotopes using ARTMS QUANTM Irradiation System installed on medical cyclotrons across the globe. Reporting to the manager, chemistry development and installation, the associate scientist is part of a team designing, specifying and manufacturing innovative products for the nuclear medicine field. The primary focus of the associate scientist will be to develop target production, radioisotope purification, and enriched material recycling processes. The successful candidate will work closely with our operations, installation, engineering and quality departments to optimize process while delivering high quality products. Experience with inorganic and analytical chemistry, knowledge of and/or experience with radioisotope production, radiochemical separation processes and GMP manufacturing are desired.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop, document and implement processes for new radiometal production, processing, purification, and recycling.Perform chemical manipulations with inorganic chemicals.Prepare and execute validation campaigns according to process requirements and written protocol.Maintain organized and meticulous documentation of laboratory work.Evaluate experimental data with a focus on process optimization.Carry out preventative maintenance and routine calibration of equipment.Assist with writing and editing procedures, development reports and other relevant quality driven documentation.Maintain laboratory inventories to ensure critical supplies remain in stock.Contribute towards after-sales support and service.Work towards the continuous improvement of manufacturing programs to meet requirements and product orders by applying theoretical and practical knowledge.Actively engage in discussions regarding implementation of innovative products.Work within guidelines to ensure regulatory requirements such as cGMP, ISO, nuclear safety and transportation and dangerous goods requirements are met.Assist with internal & external compliance audits.Demonstrate and promote safe work habits and enforce a clean and organized working environment.Actively participate in deviation, non-conformance investigations and corrective actions.The position may require the incumbent to be trained as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW). Previous experience as a Nuclear Energy Worker is an asset.Education And ExperienceBachelors degree or Diploma in Chemistry or related technology program required1+ years of relevant laboratory work experience, inorganic chemistry or material science required.Capability to handle and manipulate chemicals in a safe manner.Research experience with an emphasis on process and product development and implementation.Quality driven and familiar with working in a regulated environment, including ISO9001 and cGMP environments.Knowledge of a variety of laboratory and analytical equipment and techniques.
