Do you seek out ideas for improving the status quo?If you want to make a difference and love being surrounded by the best and the brightest minds, Bureau Veritas Canada might be the place for you!Here are our Core Values :ResponsibleAmbitious & HumbleOpen & InclusiveIf these values resonate with you, Bureau Veritas is looking for aJob Title : Wet Assay Laboratory TechnicianReports to : Laboratory ManagerDepartment : Wet AssayFull-TimeGraveyard Shift : 10 : 30pm - 6 : 30amBasic Purpose :Reporting to the Wet Assay Manager, the Wet Assay Laboratory Technician performs routine and non-routine duties in the Wet Assay Lab including clerical or physical functions and analysis of samples by established analytical techniques.Key Accountability / Responsibilities :Accurately conduct routine and non-routine analyses of samples using the appropriate method or instrument and in accordance with the established scheduleProvide technical support to the senior technician for any duties and tasks that are assigned from time to timeMeet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirementsAccurately follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructionsPrepare chemical reagents and calibration standards for the use in the laboratoryHandling all chemicals in accordance to Safety Data Sheet (SDS)Perform daily, weekly or monthly chemical inventory count and other cleanup duties as requiredOperate and perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of all instruments such as Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS), auto-titrator, pH and conductivity meter, UV-vis Spectrometer, Pycnometer.Assist in setting up and conducting chemical experiments, tests and analysesCompile records for analytical studies, maintain a high quality of results to clients.Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Upstream Minerals Management System Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable to the positionAct in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE)Maintain training records and relevant qualificationsParticipate in a weekly department meetingParticipate when requested in internal and external auditsKeep the work area clean, neat and organized at all timesPerform other duties as assigned by managementSkills and Knowledge :BSc. in Chemistry, Technical Diploma or equivalent experienceWorking Conditions :High level of work production in fast-paced lab environmentCan involve the repetition of the same processRequires patience, tenacity and persistenceFlexible working hours, overtime and shift workMay involve long periods of standingSome lifting and carrying (up to 10kg)Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipmentBureau Veritas is proud to be committed to providing fair and competitive pay.The salary range for this role is $20.51-$22.51Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.J-18808-LjbffrCreate a job alert for this search #J-18808-Ljbffr
