Job Description

The Role Our team is looking for a Battery Plant Facilities & Maintenance Group Leader to supervise a group of skilled trades team members. You will be responsible for operations, maintenance and repair of Battery plant facilities equipment, and provide backfill support for Maintenance Group Leaders in battery while upholding GM's purpose and values and ensuring the safe work practices of all its team members. Assignments will be completed using independent judgment within the limits of the Global Manufacturing System (GMS), focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). What Youll Do (Responsibilities) Supervise skilled trades team members and support them in achieving business objectivesManage daily and weekly tasks and scheduling of team membersGuide workforce to maintain efficiency and all cost objectivesRecommend solutions to mechanical and electrical problemsEvaluate and adjust work plans to accomplish objectivesDiagnose equipment malfunctions and breakdowns and develop permanent corrective actionsDevelop a proactive safety culture by engaging team members and peers in our safety processesCoordinate the development of pre-task plans prior to jobs to ensure all jobs are completed safelySchedule preventative maintenance (PM) tasks through use of Maximo and continuously improve PM programEnsure production equipment is capable of meeting schedule and quality requirementsComplete annual Employee Performance EvaluationsComply with the terms of local and national labor agreementsMaintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work groupCreate follow up workorders and communicate details of maintenance related items during shift change meetingsLearn, adopt, and lead GMS (Global Manufacturing System) processes to operate the business unit with continuous improvementYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Two-year degree or professional certification in a related field or equivalent work experienceMinimum 2 years of supervisory experience in the manufacturing environmentAbility to ensure a safe industrial work environmentEffective communication skills and Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate and support team member output Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-taskAbility to work primarily afternoon shift with occasional rotating shifts as requiredAbility to work autonomously with occasional guidance from leaders and peers
