Job Description

Job Title: Environmental Services ManagerWe are seeking a committed and hands-on Environmental Services Manager to lead the environmental services department within a senior living and retirement setting. This is an essential leadership role, responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry services to ensure residents live in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical expertise, people management, and a passion for delivering quality service in a senior living community.Job Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of environmental services staff, including housekeepers, laundry aides, and maintenance personnelCoordinate and supervise daily operations across the residenceConduct preventative and routine maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, fire alarms, and floor machinesManage relationships with contractors and casual/temp staffMaintain compliance with IPAC standards, health and safety regulations, and all internal policiesDevelop and manage the department's budget and capital expendituresOversee scheduling, training, performance, and engagement of the environmental services teamEnsure proper inventory and safe handling of cleaning supplies and chemicalsBuild a culture of accountability, compassion, and resident-focused serviceSupport regular inspections and ensure all work meets applicable standards and best practicesJob Qualifications:Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (Property/Facility Management, Building Operations, Environmental Services, etc.)Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in environmental services or facility maintenance, preferably in a unionized healthcare or senior living environmentMust be enrolled in or willing to enroll in the Property Administrator Certificate (PAC) programStrong working knowledge of building systems, emergency systems, and equipmentHands-on experience in housekeeping, laundry operations, and complianceAbility to manage a budget and make data-informed decisionsProven interpersonal and organizational skills; effective communicator and motivatorMust provide (or be willing to obtain) a current Vulnerable Sector CheckPassion for working with seniors and upholding values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence
