We are a feedlot located just north of Monarch, AB less than 20 minutes from Lethbridge looking for full-time farm hand/pen checker. JOB DESCRIPTION: Farm Hand/Pen Checker The main duties may include, but are not limited to: - Feedlot maintenance including cleaning waters, repairing pens, general cleaning of barn/shop areas - Checking all pens daily to monitor cattle health - Pulling and treating cattle based on veterinary protocols - Enter daily records into computer - Processing of cattle - Shipping and receiving cattle - Assist in bedding cattle - Operating some equipment including front-end loader and tractors to assist with feedlot maintenance - Discussing daily tasks and cattle health with supervisors Terms of Employment: Full time. Continuing employment to follow a 3-month probationary term. Wage to be determined based on experience. Health Benefits package available after 3-months. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Applicants must be able to handle heavy loads and complete physically demanding work in all weather conditions. Requirements: - Ability to work well with the team - Good attitude and self-motivating - Take direction and learn from supervisors - Willing to learn and expand knowledge - Feedlot and livestock experience - Must be able to speak English fluently - Valid drivers license.
