Job Description

Purpose The Database Officer is a key part of the Foundations fundraising success by ensuring the optimal use of the Foundations most valuable asset, the donor database. The Database Officer plays an important role in upholding data standards and data integrity. This role supports the Database Manager by collaboratively leading data structure strategy and managing aspects of the Foundations fundraising database. Responsibilities Generate queries, exports, lists, and various types of data extractions from the fundraising database and other related systems. Generate and maintain custom reports and dashboards using various applications. Import and update large datasets into Raisers Edge NXT. Assist in maintaining data connectors related to Raisers Edge NXT. Support and enforce data quality and integrity strategies. Assist in deployment of project elements as directed by Director and Manager. Remain current on database upgrades and enhancements. Complete various data requests submitted by internal departments. Serve as a backup for the Systems Specialist and Donations Officer. Train and guide staff on the appropriate use of Raisers Edge NXT. Help staff to resolve and troubleshoot database issues. Provide administrative support for the Data Integrity Governance committee, other working groups, and projects. Update database documentation. Participate in key Foundation events. Qualifications Post secondary Diploma in a relevant field of study. Five years of related experience including 3 years working in Raisers Edge NXT Webview and Database View, database training, Raisers Edge NXT Query, Export and Reporting. Knowledge of and experience in the non-profit industry. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Working knowledge of relational databases and data types. Experience using Power BI. Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Experience applying methods to support data integrity. Ability to be resourceful and work collaboratively. Ability to work with various levels of staff with a customer-focused approach. Ability to reconcile large data sets. Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated sound judgment and tact, with ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
