Job Description

Manage a portfolio of exciting properties as an Accounting Manager. About the Opportunity Oversee the preparation and review of monthly property financial statements, including journal entry approvals, recovery reconciliations, and shortfall analysis. Review and compile property-related financial data for quarterly financial statements and MD&A reporting. Finalize annual operating cost and property tax recovery reconciliations. Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit-related inquiries. Provide leadership and support in preparing the annual operating budget and review budget submissions. Contribute to the development and analysis of consolidated budget schedules, including variance and trend analysis. Facilitate ongoing staff development through training and knowledge-sharing to enhance accounting skills. Drive process improvements and contribute to the maintenance of updated standard operating procedures (SOPs). Support the establishment and tracking of annual departmental goals. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis. Key Requirements: A minimum of 7 years of experience in property accounting within commercial or retail real estate. At least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. A strong understanding of budgeting, full-cycle accounting, and commercial lease terminology. Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation is required. Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or JD Edwards. Advanced Excel skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Word. Highly detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
