Job DescriptionTHE OPPORTUNITYWestern Forest Products is seeking an Electrical Systems Manager based in Vancouver, WA.What Youll Do: As the Electrical Systems Manager, you will oversee strategic planning, specification, procurement, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including infrastructure, power supply, motors, controls, instrumentation, and optimization. Your focus will be on continuous improvement, project management, maintenance programs, and personnel development to support organizational goals.Who You Are: You are an experienced electrical leader with a background in manufacturing or lumber industries, with over 5 years of PLC and crew supervision experience. You possess deep knowledge of electrical systems, codes, troubleshooting, and hands-on skills in PLCs such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Rockwell software. Safety-conscious, solutions-oriented, and an effective communicator, you excel in fast-paced, problem-solving environments.Our total rewards package includes:Salary range of $135,000 - $150,000 based on experience and qualifications.Performance BonusDental and Medical Benefits401(k) retirement planBasic life insuranceEmployee assistance programPaid time off and holidaysWork Environment: This role is based in person at our Vancouver, WA operations.ResponsibilitiesSafety and Environmental PerformancePromote workplace health and safety by ensuring electrical systems are installed, maintained, and operated in accordance with safety standards and training programs.Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations, advising management on requirements.LeadershipSupport maintenance personnel in electrical system specification, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Assist management with staffing, training, and oversight of electrical teams.Support planning, procurement, and work management activities.Drive continuous improvement focusing on safety, performance, efficiency, and reliability.Maintain current knowledge through education, publications, networking, and professional organizations.Build collaborative relationships with operations, maintenance, and business partners.Operational ManagementOversee electrical systems' strategic planning, procurement, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Contribute to operational planning, audits, trend analysis, and system improvements.Support financial objectives through budgeting, expenditure scheduling, and variance analysis.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or certified supervising electrician.At least 5 years of PLC experience in manufacturing or lumber industries.5+ years supervising electrical crews.Expertise in electrical standards and codes relevant to the forest products industry.Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC, motor control, electrical codes, and control devices.Experience with PLC and motion control system troubleshooting, programming, and logic.Ability to inspect electrical systems and ensure compliance.Proficiency with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Rockwell software and basic network fundamentals.Skills and CompetenciesAssertive, proactive communicator and team player.Safety-focused role model.Responsive, with a sense of urgency.Problem solver with a drive for improvement.Organized and collaborative.Calm under pressure.Your CareerWestern Forest Products values its people and offers ongoing training, career advancement opportunities, and a supportive work environment.
