Helping those impacted by lung disease.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Manager, Programs & Advocacy plays a key supporting role in advancing the LHF mission to improve the lung health of Canadians. This position supports advocacy efforts related to lung cancer, COPD, and asthma, while also contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-informed programs.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Public Affairs, the Manager will help implement advocacy strategies that raise the profile of lung health, influence public policy, and improve access to prevention, screening, and care. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, healthcare stakeholders, and people with lived experience to support impactful policy change and program delivery.Key areas of focus include:Supporting the execution of advocacy strategies across lung cancer, COPD, and asthmaAssisting with stakeholder engagement, including policymakers, clinicians, and people with lived experienceContributing to evidence-informed program delivery and evaluationHelping ensure advocacy and program initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities and grounded in equityRESPONSIBILITIESAdvocacy SupportThe Manager will play a key role in supporting LHFs advocacy efforts to drive policy and systemlevel change across priority lung health issues. This includes:Assisting in the development of policy briefs, backgrounders, submissions, and advocacy materialsSupporting relationship-building with government stakeholders, health system leaders, and allied organizationsCoordinating meetings, follow-up communications, and documentation related to advocacy effortsEngaging individuals with lived experience to inform and amplify advocacy prioritiesConducting jurisdictional scans and monitoring policy developments to inform strategyProgrammatic SupportThe Manager will contribute to the execution of lung health programs that complement advocacypriorities and improve patient outcomes. This includes:Assisting in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of programs across lung cancer, COPD, and asthmaSupporting program activities in alignment with equity principles, evidence, and strategic goalsCollaborating with internal teams and external partners to support delivery of impactful initiativesContributing to program reporting, knowledge exchange, and quality improvement effortsProject Management ExpectationsA core pillar of the Managers role is ensuring that both advocacy and program efforts are rooted in the best available evidence. The Manager will help bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring our initiatives remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with evolving knowledge. This includes:Conducting environmental scans, literature reviews, and jurisdictional analyses to identify leading practices, policy trends, and service gapsHelping translate complex research and data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for both internal and external audiencesCollaborating with colleagues to ensure evidence is consistently integrated into messaging, strategy development, and stakeholder engagementDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) SkillsAt LHF, we are committed to equity and inclusion in everything we do.
