Join to apply for the Consultant Ophthalmologist role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran Position Details A 4-PA post as a Consultant in Ophthalmology, preferably with a sub-specialty interest in Neuro-ophthalmology, is available from 1st September 2025. The provisional job plan includes sessions working at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The contract is for 4 Programmed Activities, including administrative and SPA session time. The job plan and location of duties may vary over the contract period according to service needs. Qualifications and Requirements Full GMC Registration and a license to practice. Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. UK-trained candidates should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the interview date. CESR route doctors are only eligible once CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Additional Information All newly qualified Consultants are initially offered a minimum of 1 Core SPA, including CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning, and management meetings. This will be reviewed and potentially increased within 6 months.
