Job Description

Environmental Specialist - Honduras This placement offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the environmental sustainability of Honduras. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current situation of AHER, identifying areas for improvement and developing a strategic plan to strengthen the organization''s environmental focus. Design and implement local environmental initiatives that address global warming, climate change, and sustainable agricultural practices, in collaboration with partner organizations. Promote environmental policies through active engagement with AHER''s stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor''s degree in International Development, Environmental Sciences, or Social Justice. Master''s degree in Environmental Sciences is an asset. Minimum 2 years of experience in designing and implementing environmental projects. Minimum 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation. Strong knowledge of the current climate change context. Previous experience in related fields is an asset. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Complete a language assessment during the preliminary telephone interview in the required language. Obtain a satisfactory Police Check. Complete a medical exam and be medically cleared before departure. Dual vaccination following World Health Organization-approved vaccines due to COVID-19 situation. You will have a Volunteering Mobilization Advisor (VMA) to support you through the process and participate in pre-placement training as part of your preparation.
