Your role is to ensure the safety of individuals and the public by identifying and mitigating radiation hazards. You will report to a Radiation Safety Officer and be based at a federal government or agency, manufacturing, or industrial plant in Chalk River, Ontario, Canada.You will work a 4/10 schedule, Monday to Thursday, onsite 10 hours per day, totaling 40 hours per week, with 3 days off. There are options for short-term (4 to 6 months) and long-term (12 months or more) assignments depending on availability.Compensation: $48.04/hr CAD; Per Diem up to $150.00/day CAD for all eligible employees; contract completion and retention bonuses.Key Responsibilities:Conduct radiation and contamination surveys in compliance with ES&H and Radiation programs in natural, nuclear, and potential nuclear environments.Identify and control spills of hazardous chemicals and nuclear contamination.Survey and inspect work areas for nuclear hazards and construction/deconstruction health hazards.Develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring procedures and regulations are followed.Perform pre-job briefs with workers regarding hazards.Perform air sampling and analyze data.Maintain logbooks and update data electronically.Verify hazard postings and labelling per regulations and site procedures.Qualifications:High School Diploma required; a bachelor's degree in health physics, radiation safety, nuclear engineering, physics, or related field is an asset.At least 3 years of radiation protection experience required.Valid G driver's license and personal transportation required.Pass a company-administered Radiation Safety Exam (GDI).#LI-OnsiteWhy Westinghouse?We foster a workplace powered by inclusive leaders, teams, and culture.
