In addition to monitoring the day-to-day operations and financial performance of each pharmacy, ensure compliance with all company operating standards and expectations, the Ontario College of Pharmacists and any other applicable regulations.Specific ResponsibilitiesImplement and monitor operational objectives pertaining to such things as sales, margin, shrink, labor, controllable expenses, contribution, pharmacy services, superior customer service and any other current emerging prioritiesDevelop unique strategies by pharmacy to meet or exceed operational objectivesRecruit and selectively hire top candidates for Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacist positions (including unionized employees as required)Train and develop Pharmacy Managers (and other staff members as required) capable of achieving operational objectives and effective overall management of the pharmacy, providing active regular feedback as requiredConduct performance reviews of each Pharmacy ManagerConduct Pharmacy Operations Audits to assess complianceAccountable for ensuring pharmacies meet OTC operational standardsMeet regularly with each Pharmacy Manager to review overall Pharmacy performance including P&L financials, shrink results, operational deficiencies and implement corrective measures as requiredVisit each pharmacy regularly on average once per period to ensure both store and operational standards are in place and identify best practices/deficiencies for reviewDuring each visit, meet with store management to develop store relations and to provide/receive department feedbackEnsure each pharmacy is compliant with all company operating standards and expectation, OCP and any other applicable regulatory bodiesAddress all store level operational issues - Visit competition regularly to identify new or changing competitor activityResponsible for ensuring the pharmacy is open all posted operating hoursOn call, overnight stay (district or event dependent)QualificationsB.Sc.Phm. or PharmD degreeRegistered Part A Pharmacist with OCP in good standing3-5 years experience as a pharmacistPrior pharmacy management experienceProficient with current dispensing software and MS OfficeEffective communication and leadership skillsStrong organization and effective time management skills, and ability to meet deadlinesIND1The responsibilities and relationships assigned to this role may change as is necessary to achieve Metro's business objectives.METRO is committed to providing an inclusive work environment that reflects the communities we serve.
