If yes, we are excited to welcome you onboard as our new Recruitment Specialist!POSITION OVERVIEWAs a Recruitment Specialist, you will support the team and operational leaders in the recruitment of great candidates to the organization. You will also support with screening resumes, conducting interviews, conducting reference checks, and recommending candidates for hire. Key Responsibilities:Sourcing & Screening: Identify candidate leads through various sources, as applicable, ie. COV website, student engagement and career events. Assess internal/external applicant resumes and cover letters against the required/preferred posted qualifications and applicable orders of consideration and collective agreement criteria.Interviewing: Conduct candidate interviews independently or with a hiring manager, to support recruitment to specific vacancies, and through pipeline processes. Document interview responses, including areas of concern and asking probing questions where necessary.Reference Checks: Complete reference checks as required through RedCap survey or by phone. Complete accurate and thorough notes on reference checking form, save electronically and also share with the hiring manager.Client Consultations: Work with hiring manager to ensure screening/interview tools are appropriate for the position. Identify alternate opportunities available for qualified candidates who are unsuccessful on their initial requisition, ie. casual opportunities, etc. Collaborate with HR teams on matters such as selection decisions, grievances, etc.General Team Support Provide other hands-on team and/or projects support as necessary. What You Bring to the Table:Education: Relevant degree (i.e. Human Resources, Business Administration, etc) Equivalencies may be considered.Experience: Minimum 2-3 years experience in recruitment or other related positions, preferably within a unionized environment. Skills: Effective communication skills, Strong stakeholder engagement and time management skills. Good problem solving and organizational skills.
