Maintenance ManagerProfile Summary:Manage Maintenance and plant engineering functions to ensure the continuous and safe operation of equipment and facilities operations.Specific Accountabilities:Provide continuous and safe operation of equipment with minimum downtime while maintaining compliance with all government regulationsCoordinate operation of the mechanical and electrical staffinstallation of new equipment or machinerymaintenance of machineryidentify and prioritize cost reduction projects and housekeeping of building and groundsscheduling and oversight of sanitation Schedule manpower and define job requirements to execute corrective, preventive and predictive maintenanceManage and monitor absenteeism and overtime for maintenance staff including training and ensure that skills are maintained both technically and for safetyMaintain regular contact with production management including Director, Operations, Shift Managers, planners and mechanical/electrical lead hands and attend daily production meetingWork with Director Engineering in installation of capital projectsPurchase and source materials, parts, equipment and services in a cost effective and timely manner. Research new equipment and technologiesCoordinate management of DataStream CMMS system with Maintenance PlannerIncrease process reliability and lead downtime reviewStandardize processes through creation of SOP and Standard Work InstructionsLead selected CI projectsConduct process analysis and process mapping activitiesDevelopment and Maintain the HACCP PlanAssess and evaluate the operational and pre-requisite programs that support the foundation of the HACCP systemConduct, prepare and execute auditsRecord objective evidence on the audit checklist and prepare reportsUnderstand, apply and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practicesIdeal Qualifications: Professional Engineering degree or post graduate degree in applicable technical or business subjects, or equivalent work experience Minimum 8 years in a food manufacturing production floor environment.Knowledge of health and safety practices and food safety proceduresPrior experience in high-speed CPG or Food Manufacturing an asset Ability to observe processes, people and equipment activity to anticipate, identify, correct or prevent quality problems or production interruptions Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and ensure completion with minimal errors.Ability to assess and promptly rectify difficult situations and/or issues while adhering tocompany policies and procedures.Strong teamwork skills. Ability to work cooperatively with various departments and build strong partnerships across the organization as well as lead and manage direct reportsAbility to take proactive action based on key indicators and trend information to optimize theproduction process.Ability to train others in operations and routine machine care Frequent lifting and bending are requiredMay lift 35 lbs on an infrequent basis
