SRK Consultingis an independent, international consulting practice providing globally integrated consulting services to the mining and metals sector.We are seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist.Description of Responsibilities:SRK Consulting is an international firm of specialists focusing on the mining industry. We employ over 1,400 professionals across 45 offices on 6 continents. The Canadian Groundwater Group has 13 staff experienced in physical and chemical hydrogeology and modeling. Globally, SRK employs more than 25 hydrogeologists in North America and over 60 worldwide.The candidate will work within our hydrogeology group, typically as part of larger interdisciplinary teams including mining, geochemistry, water management, and engineering. Responsibilities include field work planning and execution, drill supervision, installation and operation of hydrogeological instrumentation in deep environments (>250m), database management, aquifer testing, data analysis, conceptual modeling, and reporting. Projects span greenfield and brownfield sites, from exploration through operations to mine closure, focusing on environmental and engineering aspects. Specific tasks involve data interpretation, development of conceptual models, coordination with geochemists and geotechnical engineers, water and load balance modeling, inflow estimation, remedial options analysis, engineering design contributions, and data interpretation for remediation systems.The successful candidate will collaborate closely with team members across disciplines and levels, manage tasks and junior staff, and prepare reports and presentations. Opportunities for professional growth and learning from experts in various fields are abundant.Essential Requirements:An undergraduate degree (masters or higher preferred) in geology, geological/civil engineering, or physical geography, emphasizing hydrogeology, hydrology, environmental engineering, or geotechnical disciplines.Minimum of five years of relevant experience; mining industry experience is advantageous.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.Strong communication and writing skills.Ability to work on-site for extended hours in variable weather conditions.Experience with installation and operation of groundwater instrumentation in depths greater than 250m.Willingness to travel locally, nationally, and internationally.Valid drivers license with a good record.Professional registration or eligibility to obtain it.This role involves working in multidisciplinary teams and may require international travel.What We Offer:Competitive compensation package.Diverse projects and clients within a flat organizational structure.Possibility to purchase shares in the employee-owned SRK Group.Applicants are invited to submit their CV online.
