The team is fundamental to achieving our goal of inspiring Canadians to join us in this journey with a brave and bold voice and through innovative partnerships and sustainable, balanced revenue sources.Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, the Senior Manager, Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in advancing CARE Canadas mission by developing and implementing comprehensive philanthropic strategies. This role involves cultivating and stewarding relationships with major donors (individuals, corporations, and foundations), and other key stakeholders to secure significant financial contributions. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to CARE Canadas mission, a proven track record in fundraising, and exceptional leadership skills.WHAT YOU BRINGMinimum 5 years experience working in major gifts/fund development.Proven experience raising gifts over $100,000.A university degree or college diploma with a focus on fundraising, project management or another related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly for donor communications.Excellent project management skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.High proficiency and experience in working, on a daily basis, with Raisers Edge NXT or an equivalent fundraising database.Proven experience working cross-functionally, with team members at all levels, and ability to project manage and implement complex projects.Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and comfortable managing through ambiguity.Strong and successful experience in relationship building; demonstrates professionalism, a donor-centric service orientation, as well as proven and positive collaboration and interpersonal skillsAbility to build, manage and maintain respectful and engaged relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.Ability to analyze and synthesize complex and sensitive material and use it to develop proposals and reports, and to present appropriate, well-informed messages to current and prospective donors.The successful candidate will possess strong experience in relationship building, demonstrate professionalism, service-orientation, excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARYPrior experience successfully managing and coaching staff.Experience in the International Development Sector an asset.Facility in French is an asset.REQUIREMENTSPromote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.Create an environment within CARE's workplaces, programming, and communities where CARE works that is free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation and child abuse (SHEA-CA).Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SHEA-CA are in place consistent with the CARE International (CI) Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.WHAT WE OFFERStarting salary between $100,000 - $110,000Comprehensive benefits package, providing family coverage for a wide range of services, including paramedical services, gender-affirming care, mental health support, and access to a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Paid annual and wellness leave benefitsExtended list of paid holidays, beyond provincial requirementsDecember Office Closure (between December 24-January 1)Inclusive holiday policyParental leave top-upEmployer contributions to group pension plan beginning in 2nd Year; Optional participation in group RRSP.International and domestic travel opportunitiesAll-Staff RetreatLearning and development opportunities and specialized trainingFlexible work hours in a remote-first work environmentA focus on wellness and work-life balanceAmazing colleagues who are very committed to CAREs missionHOW TO APPLYIf you are someone who thrives on challenge, loves to be part of a dynamic team and are passionate about making a difference, then this opportunity is for you!
