This is a temporary part-time (0.8 FTE) contract position from September 2, 2025 - June 26, 2026.OperationsIntegrated Education and Therapy follows the Toronto District School Board Calendar, open from September to June annually. Closed to summer break (July, August), 2 weeks winter break (December),1 week March break (March).This typical hours for position are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:00 pmKey ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist, the Occupational TherapistAssistant/Physiotherapist Assistant:Administers programs developed by the Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to individual clients, or groups of clients such as fine motor, cognitive groups, power wheelchair training, gross motor groups, strengthening, range of motion exercises, etc.Maintains communication with supervising therapist. Monitors and reports any change or adverse reaction to treatment or prescribed program planApplies and monitors splinting devices, orthoses, aids, or assistive devices such as hand splitsSet ups and instructs clients, families, staff and students on appropriate equipment such as wheelchairs, trikes, bikes and walking aides, etc.Assists clients with activities of daily living, group work, lifting and transferring clientsPorters clients, pickups and delivers supplies, equipment, etc. as requestedAssists with wheelchair and seating set-up and maintenance as requiredRegularly inspects treatment spaces for cleanliness, safety and adequate suppliesMaintains clean, safe, operational equipment and makes recommendations for new equipment based upon Hospital needsWorks with the Preventative Maintenance Technician to conduct an annual safety inspection of all therapy equipment and wheelchairs.
