Duties Review and interpret medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper dosages and routes of administration. Provide patient education on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers in acute care settings to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions. Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication regimens as necessary. Stay current with medical terminology and advancements in pharmacotherapy. Participate in pediatric care initiatives, ensuring safe medication practices for children. Requirements Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Active pharmacist license in the state of practice. Strong knowledge of medication administration practices, particularly in acute care settings. Experience or training in pediatrics is preferred but not required. Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice. Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
